A. SEIDEN, ESQ.
Since beginning practice in 1984, Mr. Seiden has served clients as a trial lawyer. mediator and family firm advisor. His practice has concentrated on personal injury cases involving car accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, insurance claims , slip and falls and uninsured motorist claims, as well as complex insurance issues regarding bad faith, personal injury protection, general insurance liability and complicated insurance coverage Mr. Seiden also serves as a mediator, arbitrator and consultant regarding family firm and family wealth issues. He has been an innovator in dispute resolution with two patents pending before the United States Patent Office for inventions in the areas of online mediation and litigation facilitation.
As a litigator, Mr. Seiden has represented clients in hundreds of jury and non-jury personal injury and car accident trials as well as thousands of litigation matters involving a multitude of personal injury and insurance matters. In representing victims of insurance bad faith, Mr. Seiden's landmark victory before the Supreme Court of Florida in Allstate Indemnity Company v. Ruiz, 899 So.2d 1121 (Fla. 2005) changed the law, entitling consumers and policyholders the right to gain access to insurance company claim files in bad faith lawsuits. Mr. Seiden is also certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Circuit Court and County Court Mediator and qualified as a Court-Appointed Arbitrator. As a mediator, Mr. Seiden assists litigants and pre-litigants in resolving disputes by combining his mediation training and experience with an extensive litigation background. He also is former Chairperson of The Florida Bar’s Fee Arbitration Committee for the 15th Judicial Circuit and is certified by The Florida Bar as a Grievance Mediator and Fee Dispute Arbitrator. Mr. Seiden has filed briefs and appeared before the Supreme Court of Florida, the Fourth District Court of Appeal in West Palm Beach, Florida, and the Third District Court of Appeal in Miami, Florida. Mr. Seiden also has appeared in Federal Court before the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida. In addition, Mr. Seiden serves as a consultant and expert witness on insurance coverage, bad faith and attorney’s fees issues. Before entering the practice of law, Mr. Seiden was a sports writer for The Miami Herald and The Miami News.
